Are private classes only available to individuals?

Private classes can be arranged for 1 person or 2 people and are priced according to the number in the class. From September 2025 1-1 classes will be £35 per hour and 2-1 classes will be £43 per hour (£21.50 per person). If you would like to arrange private classes for larger groups, please contact us.

When are they available?

Private lessons are offered when the tutor has availability. There are usually fewer slots available in the evenings, as many tutors teach group classes at that time. It is unlikely that tutors would be free at weekends.

Is there a minimum number of classes that must be booked?

We ask for an initial booking of 3 hours private classes and usually after that students pay in blocks of at least 3 hours.

Where are these classes held?

1-1 or 2-1 classes would normally be held at our office in Paynes Park but occasionally a tutor may be able to go to a student’s house, if mutually convenient.

Is there any reduction if a series of lessons is booked?

We offer a reduction of £2 off the hourly rate if a series of 10 classes is booked and paid for in advance.

Is the student charged for cancelling a class?

We ask students to give tutors at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel a class.
