Our classes are held at a range of venues in the centre of Hitchin nearby. Here is advice on how to access central Hitchin.
By car
During the day, the nearest car park is Waitrose (accessible from Old Park Road), free if you shop there. The largest car park nearby is the Lairage multi-storey, again accessible from Old Park Road, but with a pedestrian exit on Paynes Park.
Alternatively, there are usually parking spaces in the NHDC Arcade car park immediately after the Centre on the Paynes Park gyratory or in Jacksons Yard car park.
Public transport
Hitchin is served by buses from the main towns in the area. See intalink.org.uk (opens in a new tab) for a local travel planner.
Hitchin is on three major rail routes: King’s Cross to Cambridge, King’s Cross to Peterborough and Moorgate to Letchworth. The station is to the north east of the town centre, 15 minutes walk away. There are also buses to the town centre from the station, although the journey time at rush hour may be similar to the walking time.
Disabled access
There are disabled car parking spaces in a dedicated council car park in West Alley, with vehicle access from Paynes Park. Most of the venues we hire for classes are fully wheelchair accessible. Please ask for details.
Cycling
There is plentiful cycle parking in Hitchin, particularly at St Mary’s Square and the Market Square.
